Private College Counseling Services

Space Availability: My client roster for the high school class of 2013 is now filled; I am no longer accepting students who will be applying in the 2012-2013 application cycle.  I still have limited space available for high school sophomores and freshmen, as well as college transfer applicants.

Many families find that they need additional and more personalized assistance with college and financial aid planning beyond what's available at their high school.

Perhaps their child has a unique admissions profile, or special needs in the college search process.

Or, the family feels that the student would benefit from working one-on-one with a college admissions expert.

Sometimes, a family just feels overwhelmed by the college application process, and wants a knowledgeable guide for the journey.

I'm here to help.

With a sympathetic ear and and a focus on the individual student, I offer students and parents:

  • Information and advice to help demystify college admissions and financial aid
  • Help in choosing an appropriate high school curriculum that focuses on the student's success, not just on getting into college
  • Individual guidance to help every student - from valedictorians to late bloomers - find colleges where they can be happy and successful
  • Personalized support throughout the college application process, from standardized test planning to advice on preparing effective applications and essays

Most students begin working with me in their junior year of high school, although some families find it useful to meet with me in freshman or sophomore year for pre-college planning purposes.  I also assist college students seeking to transfer to a new college.

Although I'm based in East San Diego County, California, I use web-based technologies to serve students across the country and around the world.  Students enjoy being able to meet with a college counselor from the comfort of their own home, and this also allows me to help students who otherwise would not have access to private counseling.
